Privacy Policy
I. Introduction
When you use CurbCaddie, you entrust us with your personal data. We're dedicated to maintaining that trust. Our commitment begins with ensuring you understand our privacy practices.
This policy outlines the personal data ("data") we collect, how we utilize and share it, and the choices available to you regarding your data. We suggest reading this alongside our privacy overview, which highlights key aspects of our privacy practices and summarizes the information we collect and how we use it.
II. Overview
A. Scope
This policy applies to users of CurbCaddie's applications, websites, and other services worldwide. It describes how CurbCaddie and its affiliates collect and use data.
This policy applies to all CurbCaddie users globally, unless they use a service governed by a separate privacy policy. This policy specifically applies to:
- Customers: individuals who request or receive services and related offerings, including can-to-curb, can-cleaning and trash removal services via CurbCaddie.com, through their CurbCaddie account.
- CurbRunners: individuals who deliver services via their CurbCaddie CurbRunner account or through partner organizations.
- Third party vendors: entities who provide services via their CurbCaddie account or through partner organizations.
This policy also governs CurbCaddie's other data collection activities in connection with its services. All individuals subject to this policy are referred to as "users" throughout. Our privacy practices comply with applicable laws in the jurisdictions where we operate. This means we implement the practices described in this policy in a particular country or region only when permitted under local laws. For questions regarding our practices in a specific country or region, please contact us.
III. Data collections and uses
The data we collect
CurbCaddie collects data:
- provided by users to CurbCaddie
- generated during use of our services
- from external sources
CurbCaddie collects the following information from these sources:
Data provided by users. This includes:
- Account information: We collect data when users create or update their CurbCaddie accounts, or place orders using guest checkout options. This includes first and last name, email, phone number, login credentials, address, profile picture, payment or banking information (including related payment verification details), user preferences (including accessibility settings), and loyalty program information for CurbCaddie partners. For CurbRunners and third-party vendors, this also includes vehicle or insurance information, emergency contact details, and evidence of health or fitness to provide services using CurbCaddie apps.
- Background check information (CurbRunners): This includes information submitted during the service provider application process, such as driving history or criminal record (where permitted by law), license status, known aliases, previous addresses, and work eligibility documentation. This information may be collected by CurbCaddie service providers.
- Identity verification documents and photos: This includes government-issued identification such as driver's licenses or passports (which may contain identification photos and numbers, date of birth, and gender), and user-submitted photos such as selfies and profile pictures.
- Demographic data: We collect demographic information such as birth date/age, gender or occupation when necessary to enable certain features, or provide access to age-restricted products or services. We also collect or infer (using first name) gender information to enable female or non-binary users to designate their preference for providing or receiving services to/from female or non-binary users, as well as for marketing and advertising. We also collect demographic data, such as age group and household composition, through user surveys.
- User content: We collect data (including chat logs and call recordings) when users contact CurbCaddie customer support, provide ratings or feedback for users or service providers, use features that enable users to upload content or submit recordings (including in-app audio recordings or dashboard camera recordings), or otherwise contact CurbCaddie.
Data created during use of our services. This includes:
- Location data (CurbRunners): We collect precise and approximate location data from CurbRunners' mobile devices when the CurbCaddie app is running in the foreground (app open and on-screen) or background (app open but not on-screen).
- Location data (customers and service recipients): We collect precise and/or approximate location information from customers' and service recipients' mobile devices if they enable us to do so via their device settings. CurbCaddie collects such data from the time a service is requested until it is completed, and any time the app is running in the foreground. See "Choice and transparency" below for information on how customers and service recipients can enable precise location data collection. Homeowners and service recipients may use the CurbCaddie apps without enabling collection of location data from their mobile devices. However, this may affect certain features in the CurbCaddie apps. For example, a customer who has not enabled precise location data will have to manually enter their service address. In addition, precise location data collected from a CurbRunner's device during a service is linked to the customer's account, even if the customer has not enabled precise location data to be collected from their device. This data is used for purposes such as customer support, fraud detection, insurance, litigation and service confirmation generation.
- Transaction information: We collect transaction information related to the use of our services, including the type of services requested or provided; service details (such as date and time, requested service addresses, distance traveled and items ordered); and payment transaction information (such as service provider's name and location, amount charged, and payment method). We also associate a user's name with that of anyone who uses their promotion code. This also includes information provided by users when placing their order, such as their special instructions or preferences.
- Usage data: We collect data about how users interact with our services. This includes access dates and times, app features or pages viewed, browser type, and app crashes and other system activity.
- Device data: We collect data about the devices used to access our services, including the hardware models, device IP address or other unique device identifiers, operating systems and versions, software, preferred languages, advertising identifiers, device motion data, and mobile network data.
- Communications data: We collect data regarding communications between users that are enabled through CurbCaddie's apps. This includes communication type (phone, text or in-app message), date/time, and content (including recordings of phone calls solely when users are notified of the recording in advance).
Data from other sources. These include:
- users participating in our referral programs. For example, when a user refers another person, we receive the referred person's data from that user.
- CurbCaddie account owners who request services for or on behalf of other users (such as friends or family members), or who enable other users to request or receive services through their business accounts.
- users or others providing information in connection with claims or disputes.
- CurbCaddie business partners through which users create or access their CurbCaddie account, such as payment providers, social media services, or apps or websites that use CurbCaddie's APIs or whose APIs CurbCaddie uses.
- service providers who help us verify users' identity, background information, and eligibility to work, detect fraud, and screen users in connection with legal and regulatory requirements.
- insurance, vehicle, or financial services providers for CurbRunners.
- partner service companies (for CurbRunners who use our services through an account associated with such a company).
- publicly available sources.
- marketing partners and service providers, including financial institutions in connection with rewards programs, and data resellers.

For CurbRunners who self-identify as deaf or hard of hearing via our in-app accessibility settings, we will share that information with the customers. We also provide customers with receipts containing information such as a breakdown of amounts charged, CurbRunner first name, photo, and service details. We also include other information on those receipts if required by law.
- for those who participate in CurbCaddie's referral program, we share certain data of referred users, such as service count, with the user who referred them as necessary to determine the referral bonus.
